Scott Schwartz - FideliTrade | Depository Trust Company of Delaware

Scott Schwartz is an attorney with over two decades of experience as a litigator, corporate lawyer, and risk manager.  As General Counsel for a commodities warehousing company, Scott has a unique perspective on the parallel between physical assets and digital assets.  Just as we lock our doors at night and safeguard our valuables in the physical world, we must protect our digital presence and the information we share online with the same vigilance. This philosophy is born from Scott’s experience providing legal counsel for the protection of tangible and digital assets.

His unique combination of legal expertise and technical knowledge, including CISSP, AIGP, and CIPP/US certifications, provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the pivotal junction between law, technology, and security.

Drawing on his extensive experience protecting legal documents and personal information, and advising C-suite executives on the gamut of cyber risks, Scott wrote “The Cyber Shield Protocol” to bridge the gap between technical jargon and practical, actionable guidance. The book is intended to address the needs of parents and small business owners, translating complex security jargon into easy-to-understand strategies that readers can implement to protect their digital landscape.

Scott's commitment to cybersecurity education extends beyond his professional role. He is an active member of the local ISACA Las Vegas chapter and attends cybersecurity conferences, including Black Hat USA and DEFCON to stay updated on the latest threats to digital security. As a futurist, Scott believes that knowledge sharing and privacy-enhancing technologies are crucial to protecting those most vulnerable to privacy breaches.  More particularly, most children and individuals do not fully understand the implications of sharing personal information in this digital age where the time period of data archiving is indefinite and “the toothpaste already out of the tube” after you’ve shared a secret detail of your life in a social media post.

Born and raised in Long Island, New York by two hard-working and loving parents who instilled in him the importance of family and the value of education, Scott's educational journey began at Binghamton University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He then graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, with additional coursework at Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School. This blend of  East Coast culture and pragmatism, legal education, and a passion for technological innovation shapes Scott’s perspective on the evolving landscape of cybersecurity and privacy protection. Scott's background reflects the very essence of what he advocates in The Cyber Shield Protocol: the importance of adapting traditional protective principles to meet modern digital challenges.  Scott firmly believes that society will benefit as new generations apply principles outlined in The Cyber Shield Protocol, creating a more secure and privacy-conscious digital landscape for all.
